It’s the Great Pumpkin!

Autumn is finally here and Halloween is creeping around the corner! Whether you’re out to carve the perfect Jack-0-Lantern or simply hoping to get a taste of the outdoors before the winter rainy season sets in, you’re sure to find your Great Pumpkin at one of the North Bay’s local pumpkin patches!

Nicasio Valley Farms has the only true pick-off-the-vine pumpkins in Marin County proper; if you’re not turned off for a bit of a drive, Sonoma County has quite a few more options. St. Vincent’s Field in Marinwood has long been a family favourite, offering bouncy houses and red Flyer Wagons to cart around your haul.

If you do decide to head further north, Peterson’s Farm in Petaluma is a guaranteed hit for the whole family. A working farm that converts a portion of their land to a pumpkin patch every autumn, Peterson’s offers honeybees, Scottish Highland cattle, ponies, and other farm animals in lieu of the haunted houses and snack shacks that are signatures of Marin County patches.

Whether you decide to drive north for a true farm experience or prefer to stay local, you’re sure to leave with more memories than pumpkins!
